Tiffin River

The river Tiffin originates in the Great Green Swamp and flows through the city of Aglaeca to the sea. It is a tidal river by the point it reaches the city, so raw sewage often flows through the city several times before making it to the sea. The constant ebb and flow means the water level in the Aglacea’s sewer system constantly fluctuates in a dangerous fashion, and extremely high tides can flood much of the town with foul water. Walking along the banks of the river is generally avoided. Between the smell, the slime, and the decaying chunks of deposited fecal matter, it’s not considered a good time. That said, water taxis plying the river can be the quickest and most effecient way of getting around. (Although persons not native to the city are often so repulsed by the smell as to prefer longer and slower routes.)
